Most shop websites have no prices on them at all, on the reasoning that every car is different. Every car is different. The labor rate is not.
Neither is the flat-rate time for an operation, neither are the interval services, and neither is the cost of finding out what is wrong. Those four things cover most of what anybody actually wants to know before they telephone, and withholding them serves the shop rather than the customer.
So here is how a figure on this page is built. Every repair is a published flat-rate time — an industry-standard book time for that operation on that vehicle — multiplied by the labor rate, plus parts. If an operation books at 2.4 hours, you pay 2.4 hours of labor whether the technician takes two hours or four. That protects you from a slow day as much as it protects us from a fast one.
The ranges below are wide because vehicles differ. A brake job on a compact and a brake job on a three-row SUV are the same operation with different parts and different book times. The figure for your car is on a written estimate, authorized by you before anything starts.

These are shown separately on every estimate and every invoice, rather than folded into the operation price, because folding them in is how two estimates stop being comparable.

There is no charge for writing an estimate, no charge for a second opinion on our own work, no charge for the quality-control road test, and no charge for returning your old parts. None of those are favours — they are part of doing the job.
Prices are USD ranges for the operation named, at a labor rate of $149 per hour, and include parts and labor unless a line says otherwise. They exclude shop supplies, disposal fees and tax. They are published so you can budget before you call, and they are not an estimate for your vehicle. D 8.0 Comparing
How to compare this against another estimate
You should compare. We publish these figures partly so that you can, and if somebody else is genuinely cheaper for the same work, that is worth knowing.
The trick is that estimates are rarely for the same work. Four questions make them comparable, and they are worth asking any shop including this one:
1. What is the labor rate, and how many hours? A low rate with inflated hours is not a saving. Ask for the rate and the book time separately, not just the total.
2. What grade are the parts? OE, OE-equivalent, aftermarket and remanufactured are four different prices and four different warranties for the same line. An estimate that does not say which is not an estimate yet.
3. What is included that the other one is not? Brake hardware, fluid, a new gasket, an alignment after suspension work. This is where the two figures usually part company.
4. What is the warranty, and on what? Parts only, or parts and labor? For how long and how many miles? A cheaper job with no labor warranty can cost more the second time.

We will read theirs
Bring an estimate from another shop and we will read it against your car for $99. Sometimes the answer is that it is entirely fair, and we will tell you that rather than undercut it for the sake of the work.

Everything on this page is a range. Telephone with the year, make, model and mileage, and what it is doing, and we will narrow it a long way before the car arrives — then put the actual figure in writing before anything is touched.
